Description

Butternut is light and easy to work. It has nearly white sapwood and light brown heartwood. Butternut resembles black walnut, but it is slightly lighter in color and lower in density. This makes butternut more affordable than black walnut. Butternut is often used for veneer, furniture, cabinets, interior woodwork, and carvings.
